About the Opportunity:

Do you have a passion and gift for worship ministry?  Is your desire to eventually lead within the church environment?  If so, we would like to hear from you!  Westover Church has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Worship Resident.  This position affords the chance to learn vocational ministry as you play a significant role in helping to lead our worship ministry.  This residency is designed to be for a period of two years & includes working directly with our Worship Pastor.  The Worship Resident will learn the aspects of leadership of the church body’s worship as well as mentoring and equipping members of a worship team.  We give real-world, practical teaching and training to emerging leaders looking to expand their experience.  It’s a chance for you to do ministry, hone skills and learn how to be most effective for Christ.  Our aim is to help you implement and grow the gifts/skills that you have been given, providing both practical training and spiritual development.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Helping to lead the gathered church to participate in worship through different genres/styles of music
  • Coordinating w/Worship Pastor to provide leadership during rehearsals on a weekly basis
  • Organizing schedules of band members, actively recruiting for worship volunteers
  • Partnering with Vocal Director for weekly worship needs
  • Furthering the vision of worship ministry through special events outside of Sunday programming
  • Supporting other ministry areas with worship needs (smaller community events such as Kids, Local/Global missions, etc)


Candidate Qualifications:

  • Degree from a four year Christian college/university; music concentration preferred
  • Strong vocal ability, experience with musical arrangements & instrumentality preferred
  • 2+ years of serving in a ministry or complimentary field
  • Strong organizational approach, written communication & timeliness with deadlines
  • Experience with Ableton Live, ProPresenter, and PCO preferred
  • Willingness to lead with humility, demonstrate creativity & engage in teambuilding
  • Possess a teachable spirit and flexible approach to the work of the ministry
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include Wednesday evenings, Sunday mornings and special event dates
