About the Opportunity:

JOB DESCRIPTION

The position of High School Ministry Associate works in close partnership with the High School Pastor to facilitate and expand our existing Student Ministry where we train students in these three areas: The Gospel, maturity, and sending. This individual is called to Christian service and has a supernaturally powered energy and passion for ministering to high school and college students. If you love planning events, and discipling the next generation, this team is for you! This person reports to the High School Pastor but works in collaboration with High School Ministry staff.

• Must be a growing Christian, deepening his/her personal relationship with Jesus Christ and modeling this to others.
• Someone who is teachable and willing to learn from others. 
• Excellent relational skills (diplomatic, caring, active listener, and commitment to confidentiality).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills 
• Ability to work positively in a team-based environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and processes together.
• Independent worker
• High level computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Google Calendar & Docs, other platforms)
• Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional IQ
• Understands the need for confidentiality within the church setting.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the High School Pastor in overseeing the ministries and programs provided for High School students.
• Recruit, train, equip, and oversee volunteers in the ministry.
• Assist in planning and conducting events for high school and college ministry.
• Meet regularly with the High School Pastor to plan weekly programming and special events, and to evaluate past programs and events.
• Build relationships with students within and outside of regularly scheduled programming and events.
• Actively disciple individual students. 
• Serve as a back-up to the High School Pastor on Sundays, Wednesdays, and events if he is gone.
• Be involved with church-wide initiatives to provide leadership and be a Servant example to the students and families.

• Assist with other duties as assigned to further the work of Christ in our community and around the world.

RELATIONSHIPS

• Serves under the direction of the High School Pastor.

WORKING HOURS & PAY RATE

• This is a full-time, hourly position with a pay rate based on years of experience and industry standards.
