About the Opportunity:

Join the dynamic team at Westover Church, where we are actively searching for a dedicated and passionate individual to fill the role of Early Childhood Associate in our vibrant Westover Kids ministry. As a community committed to nurturing children's spiritual growth, we believe in creating a supportive environment where each child can flourish.

Scope

In this part-time role, averaging 20 hours per week, the Early Childhood Associate will be instrumental in leading and coordinating activities for nursery and preschool-aged children. We are seeking an individual with exceptional organizational skills, a genuine heart for children's ministry, and the ability to lead various projects, events, and volunteer teams within the dedicated ministry area. Reporting directly to the Children’s Ministry Director, the associate will be a key contributor to the spiritual development of our youngest members.

Organizational and Leadership Responsibilities – 75%

  • Oversee and coordinate Early Childhood programming for Sunday mornings.
  • Recruit, train, and equip Sunday team members.
  • Manage team member care, support, and appreciation.
  • Coordinate regular communication with parents and team members.

Collaboration, Communication, and Liaison Roles – 25%

  • Meet regularly with the Children’s Director to provide feedback, and updates, and contribute to action planning for ministry team goals.
  • Engage regularly with the Early Childhood leadership team and team members to foster a supportive and encouraging team dynamic.
  • Attend weekly Westover Kids meetings and monthly all-staff meetings, serving as a liaison between Early Childhood and Westover staff, Elders, and Deacons.
  • Collaborate with Westover Kid’s staff on Promotion Sunday preparations, family events, summer camps, and weekly email communications to parents.
  • Work closely with the Westover Kids Care Coordinator and MOPS Childcare Coordinator on Early Childhood policies and address any related concerns.

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience in children’s ministry, with a preference for candidates with leadership experience.
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of Outlook and all Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • Strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, highly developed interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task, and proficiency in training and facilitating classes.
  • Skilled in resource and project management.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree.
