Volunteer Application

To volunteer join the WAV team, come by the Welcome Center in the main lobby and fill out a ministry interest form. We will also need you to fill out a WAV Volunteer Application form, which you can get here. Completing this application is the first step in the process of joining the WAV team.

Contact

Once we have reviewed your application, we will contact you by phone or e-mail. We will also send you additional questions specific to the area in which you are most interested. We will then setup a time for you to begin your apprenticeship with a member of our team.

Apprenticeship

You will be paired with an experience volunteer on Sunday mornings or a Wednesday night rehearsal for hands-on training in a mentoring relationship. This provides you the opportunity to learn in a one-on-one environment and allows us to evaluate your progress. This period can take from one to six months depending on the knowledge required for the specific skill.

On Task

When you complete your training, you will be assigned to an area of the WAV team and assigned to a regular rotation schedule. You will be expected to commit to one year of service with our team.

Advanced Training

We are committed to sharpening our volunteer's skills and equipping them with the knowledge necessary to support the worship service. We do this using a classroom environment we call Advanced Training.

Team Commitment

The Sunday morning time commitment is from rehearsal at 8:15 am through the final service. Call time for our volunteer techs is 8:00 am on Sunday mornings. Some positions, including audio and lighting, require set-up time during the week in addition to Sunday. The minimum we ask volunteers to serve is two Sundays in a row and then off for the following four consecutive Sundays. We run a year-long volunteer rotation and ask that volunteers commit to at least a year with the option of renewing your commitment every year if you wish to remain on the team.
