Time Passes...Let's Tell the Next Generation June 04, 2018
Yesterday was a good day. It started with breakfast at church ... having the privilege of handing out bibles to dozens of our rising first graders. I love doing that. It is such a fun event. This year included my granddaughter, Janie Grace. I pray for the day when she and all these children can read God's word.
My day continued with dinner ... with one of our senior guys' small groups. Gary Howell has led this group of ten since they were freshmen. He wanted to highlight their graduation with words of honor and hope. It is hard to put into words how special this time was. I wish you all could have been there.
That dinner was followed by a dessert time ... where the Class of '18 was recognized with words of love and blessing from their parents. There are always lots of smiles and tears.
So my day began with kindergarteners and ended with college freshman. A vivid reminder of how quickly the years go by. A challenge to us as leaders at Westover to "tell the next generation the praise worthy deeds of the Lord, His power, and the wonders He has done." (Psalm 78: 4b)
