Elder Candidates

Mike Blackwood

Mike became a believer in high school and has been at Westover for over 54 years. He and his wife, Ginger, have contributed in multiple ways to caring for the people of Westover. Mike has previously served as an Elder, a Deacon, and a trusted teacher throughout his time here. Mike raised four children and currently has eleven grandchildren, ages 6-21.

"I want to help guide & prosper the church for the next four years and beyond. What I like about Westover are its goals of being an effective witness to Christ in Greensboro & beyond as well as building up the body in maturity of grace and truth."

Kevin Sasser

Kevin has trusted Jesus for 22 years. He and Amy have been at Westover for over 9 years. They have three children, Anna (14), Aiden (12) & Avery (9). Kevin has served in leadership previously as a Deacon, in men’s ministry and college ministry leadership, as a Kindergarten teacher, and is currently an AWANA leader.

"My hope is to help lead the body during this time of transition and my prayer is for relational unity within the church. We love that Westover’s body spans the generations and has a rich spiritual heritage. The heart for global missions as well as Westover’s desire for the body to connect/serve in the local community are other reasons why we love Westover."

Regan has placed his faith in Jesus for 30 years and has been part of Westover for nearly 7 years. He and Marla have three children, Jacob (9), Allison (6), and Evan (4). Regan has been involved with life community leadership and GUF teaching plans as well as VBS and AWANA.

"Influencing others for Christ, growth in faith, being light in a dark world, serving the body & mentoring others are part of how I would like to see God using my leadership role. We love the biblically based teaching, life communities, and the mentor couples’ service to younger generations here at Westover."

Drew has been a believer for over 34 years; he & his wife Kelley have attended Westover for nearly 9 years. They have five children, Lucy (10), Ellie (7), Larkin (3), Liuie (2) & Luke (1). Mark has been involved with our God@Work group as well as the worship ministry. At their former church, Mark also served as an elder, small group/ministry leader.
