“A Heart of Sacrificial Giving and Service” 

Psalm 37:21-22 & Mark 12:41-44 

How this passage points to Christ: This message echoes the teachings of Christ, who exemplified perfect generosity and taught His followers to give freely. Christ's life and sacrifice serve as the ultimate example of how we can give without expecting anything in return, inspiring us to follow His lead. 

Big Idea: Our acts of generosity reflect our trust in God's provision and demonstrate our faith to the world, showing that a generous heart is a blessed heart.

“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” Proverbs 4:23 

“The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” 

 Luke 6:45 

1. Reject a Selfish Heart.  

“The wicked borrows but does not pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives”          Psalm 37:21 

2. Cultivate a Generous Heart.  

“for those blessed by the Lord shall inherit the land, but those cursed by him shall be cut off.” Psalm 37:22 

“And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny. And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.” Mark 12:41-44
