2026 Elder Candidates

Brice Crigler-Elder Candidate

Amanda and I have been married for 14 years and first met at Westover in the young adult ministry, “The Well.” We have a daughter, Abigail, who is 7, and foster twins, Mark and Leah, who are 2. Amanda has attended Westover for 16 years, and I’ve been part of the church family for 15. Over the years, through parenting and serving in foster care, the Lord has used these experiences to sanctify me and deepen my faith.

Nothing has been more humbling and rewarding than parenting, which has opened my eyes to God’s grace and mercy and His love as my Heavenly Father. I’ve also been encouraged to see revival stirring among our youth and spreading to adults. At work, I’ve been leading a small group of men through Genesis and prayer, many of whom are encountering God’s Word for the first time. I’m honored to be considered for this leadership role and desire to serve faithfully in this season of revival, with open hands and heart to say, “Lord, here I am—send me.”

Richard Westover- Elder Candidate

Rachel and I met in college through InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and were married in 2007. We have two children, Ashlynn (9) and Brody (7), who attend The Covenant School and share a growing love for Jesus and His Word. Our family enjoys spending time together, especially around sports—thankfully, the kids inherited Rachel’s athletic ability. We began attending Westover in 2005 and became more deeply involved in 2007 through LifeCommunities, VBS, and leading Financial Peace University classes. We now serve on the leadership team for The Nest LifeCommunity, and I am currently completing my final year on the Deacon Board.

Over the years, God has grown in me a passion for teaching. What began in 2009 as a step outside my comfort zone has become one of my greatest joys, from leading discussions at VBS to teaching Biblical finance to high school students at The Covenant School. Serving in Westover leadership has given me a front-row seat to witness God’s faithfulness—through His provision, the growth of our ministries, and the inspiring testimonies of new members. It has been a privilege to serve alongside men who deeply love the Lord and this church, and I am eager to continue that service on the Elder Board, trusting God to deepen my dependence on Him in every step of leadership.

Craig Creaturo- Deacon Candidate

Rachel and I met at Grove City College in Pennsylvania and have been married for 33 years. Most of our married life was spent in Western Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh, where we raised our two children. Our daughter, Jackie (27), lives in Columbus, OH with her husband, Josh, whom she met at Cedarville University. Our son, Ryan (25), is a senior at UNCG after serving four years in the U.S. Marines and is engaged to Sophie, with plans to marry in May 2026. Rachel’s parents moved to Greensboro in 2021, and my mother joined the area in 2024. We began attending Westover shortly after relocating to Greensboro in 2019 and became members in 2020, drawn by its biblical foundation, focus on missions, and shared values with the Christian & Missionary Alliance churches we had long attended.

I came to faith in Christ at age 12 and have seen God’s hand in my sanctification ever since. Through marriage, ministry, and leadership, He has deepened my dependence on Him and provided many opportunities to serve. I’ve held roles as church treasurer, deacon, teacher, and elder over the years, and currently help lead the Verse-by-Verse LifeCommunity at Westover. We have found Westover to be a true spiritual home, and I am deeply grateful to serve God through its ministries. It is a joy to see how He is drawing people closer to Himself here, and I look forward to continuing to serve faithfully as He leads.

Alan Nix- Deacon Candidate

I met my wife, Susie, while attending UNCG, and we were married in 2013. We began visiting Westover in 2014 and have now been part of the church family for over 10 years. We have three children—Ellie (8), Tripp (6), and Noah (3)—who bring great joy to our lives. Over the years, we’ve served in various ministries including AWANA, Westover Kids, and the Welcome Tent. Early in our time at Westover, Susie and I both led high school small groups through the student ministry, experiences that deeply shaped our faith and connection to the church.

I currently serve as a Captain with the Greensboro Fire Department, where I’ve worked for 13 years in several leadership and support roles, including the Hazmat Team, Peer Support Team, and Honor Guard. In my career, I’ve seen God’s faithfulness sustain me through the challenges and emotional weight of public service, continually reminding me that He has called me to serve, not to be comfortable. Recently, I began a men’s prayer group within the department, providing a space for encouragement and faith in the workplace. Westover has been a source of spiritual strength and community for our family, especially during seasons of grief and hardship. I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as a deacon and trust that God will use my experiences to serve and support the body of Christ at Westover.

Daniel Smith- Deacon Candidate

Marie and I have been married for 13 years and are blessed with two sons, Causey (5) and Caleb (4). We met at Campbell University and spent the first years of our marriage in Long Island, NY, where God used that season to strengthen our foundation as a couple. In 2014, Marie’s career brought us back to North Carolina, and after several years of commuting between Raleigh and Greensboro, we moved here permanently in 2017. We began attending Westover later that year and became members in 2019. From the start, we desired to make a large church feel small, and God has been faithful to surround us with a community that has challenged and encouraged our faith.

God continues to use His Word and Christian community to refine my heart and character. Through a recent study of Respectable Sins by Jerry Bridges, I’ve become more aware of areas where I need to align my attitudes and actions with the Spirit, learning to walk with greater patience, humility, and dependence on the Lord. I have experienced firsthand the impact of the local church in shaping my faith and supporting my family through every season. I count it a privilege to serve in a role that helps foster that same spiritual growth and belonging for others, and I’m eager to see how God will continue to use Westover to glorify Himself through His people.
