“When You Pray”

Matthew 6:5-7
“A triune God would call us to converse with him…because he wants to share the joy he has. Prayer is our way of entering into the happiness of God himself. Tim Keller, Prayer
Big Idea: Prayer matters-not only that we pray, but how we pray.
“Now Jesus was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, ‘Lord, teach us to pray, as John taught his disciples.’ And he said to them, ‘When you pray, say:” Luke 11:1
When you pray, be authentic. (v.5)
When you pray, be devoted. (v.6)
“O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth.” Psalm 54:2
When you pray, be sincere. (v.7)
“And they took the bull that was given them, and they prepared it and called upon the name of Baal from morning until noon, saying ‘O Baal answer us! ‘But there was no voice, and no one answered. And they limped around the altar that they had made.” I Kings 18:26
