“The Spirit of Love and Truth”
Pastor Kevin Wilson
John 14:15-17

“I don’t want my life to be explainable without the Holy Spirit. I want people to look at my life and know that I couldn’t be doing this by my own power.”

Francis Chan, “Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit

Big Idea: Real love for God is revealed in obedience and sustained by the presence of the Holy Spirit

Key Points:

The Holy Spirit enables us to keep His commandments. V. 15

The Holy Spirit flows from the Father and the Son v. 16

The Spirit Makes the Presence of God Personal V.17

“Yet since we see that not all indiscriminately embrace that communion with Christ which is offered through the gospel, reason itself teaches us to climb higher and to examine into the secret energy of the Spirit, by which we come to enjoy Christ and all his benefits… the Holy Spirit is the bond by which Christ effectually unites us to himself.” John Calvin

“If we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit” Galatians 5:25

“In him you also when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.” Ephesians 1:13-14

Next Step: Holy Spirit, I surrender __________ to Jesus.

Westover Meal Ministry

Want to serve on our team and be a part of loving our church family in a practical way?

The Westover Meal Ministry Team exists to show the love of Jesus by providing warm meals for those in our church family during times when extra care and support are needed. Whether walking through the loss of a loved one, illness in the family, or welcoming a new baby, we hope these meals offer comfort and practical help. While this support is temporary, our prayer is that it blesses families in a meaningful way during a season of need.

We are honored to serve our First Responders Lunch on Wednesday, May 13.  This is an annual event at Westover and it has become a fan favorite.  This year, we want to add a variety of desserts.    Dessert drop off will begin on Sunday, May 10 until 10am on Wednesday, May 13.

Desserts we are needing:  Cookies, Brownies, Dessert bars, cakes.
Please no pies, crumbles, doughnuts, muffins or ice cream based desserts (we do a lot of to-go boxes and ice cream does not travel well.)
Please bring enough to serve 24.

We’re so glad you chose to join us.
