Introducing the Congregational Nurse Program at Westover!

In an effort to promote physical, mental and emotional wellness among our congregants and neighbors, and with emphasis on spiritual health, we are excited to announce a new partnership with the Congregational Nurse Program of Cone Health that will provide services for our church body and surrounding community. The mission of the Congregational Nurse Program is to support caring and healing while integrating spiritual, physical, and emotional health.

What will the nurse be doing?

Examples include providing personal health counseling and education, facilitating health screenings and health related events, conducting blood pressure and blood glucose checks for individuals, making referrals, and assisting with navigating the healthcare system as well as reaching out to our neighboring communities.

Who can see the Congregational Nurse?

Anyone seeking assistance with any of the services mentioned above. This would exclude those needing emergency care.  Nurses are also unable to prescribe medications or make diagnoses. However, nurses are able to consult with medical personnel within the Cone Health System.

When will the Congregational Nurse be available?

Nurses will be available on Mondays from 9am-12pm, and on other days by appointment. Simply send an email to nurse@westoverchurch.com, or call the Westover church office at 336-299-7374.

Who are the Congregational Nurses?

Jeanie Church, RN and Susan Odom, BSN, RN.
