Description

EMPOWERED TO CONNECT CONFERENCE SIMULCAST

APRIL 5 & 6, 2019

*Last Day to Register is April 1*

The 2-DAY Empowered to Connect Conference features practical teaching in a safe and supportive community as we work to equip families, churches, and professionals to better serve children impacted by adoption and foster care. It features Trust-Based Relational Intervention® (TBRI ®methods developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross from the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development (KPICD) at TCU, to help bring attachment and connection in families. The two-day conference will be simulcast live on Friday, April 5, and Saturday, April 6, from Fort Worth, TX.

The content is ideal for adoptive and foster parents, those considering adoption or foster care, and those who are serving and supporting others, including social workers, agency professionals, church staff and ministry leaders, counselors, and therapists.

**CEU INFORMATION: We are excited to share that the 2019 Empowered to Connect Conference has been approved by the National Association of Social Workers for 11 continuing education credits. Additional details and registration for CEUs are now available here . Please contact the ETC Conference with any questions.

About Empowered to Connect
Empowered to Connect (ETC): Empowered to Connect was founded by Dr. Karyn Purvis, together with Michael and Amy Monroe, to provide resources and parent training specifically
designed for adoptive and foster parents. The ETC Parent Training relies heavily on the Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) model developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and  her colleagues at the Purvis Institute. Participants are equipped with a holistic understanding of their child’s developmental needs, as well as tools and strategies to effectively meet those needs, build trust, and help their child heal and grow. Visit Empowered To Connect for helpful resources you can use today and a map showing Empowered to Connect Parent Trainers.

Westover Church is hosting the Empowered To Connect conference because of our desire to love children without parents in our area and to support families who have adopted or are fostering. We need help with this event. If you have a few hours leading up to the event or on April 5-6, please contact Lynn Stowe.
