Michael Carter Worship Pastor
In his role at Westover, Michael oversees congregational worship for the church family. Michael’s love for music started at an early age—to him it is a powerful expression and vehicle of communication. “God would have his people praise Him with music and singing,” said Michael. “He wants those songs to be in truth and about His gift of the Gospel.” Michael enjoys reading, mostly theological books.
Michael is married to Kerri and they have four young children. He is orginally from Greensboro and came on staff at Westover in March of 2013. He has a BS in Business Administration from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Master’s of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. God began directing Michael’s heart toward ministry in his early twenties. Almost 10 years later he yielded to what God wanted him to pursue as a vocation. Kerri and Michael quit their jobs, sold their house, and went to seminary.
Every day, he is excited to watch his children as they grow. Michael loves sharing his life with Kerri who is also his best friend.
