Director of Finance
About the Opportunity:
The Director of Finance will serve the Body of Westover by providing administrative support for all aspects of the ministry area, while also contributing to the strategic planning with pastoral and director leadership. The Director of Finance will report directly to the Senior Director of Operations.
Administrative - 90%
For General Fund (including Building & PHP) & Global Missions:
Income – Deposits; Online Giving; Weekly Count; Contributions (stock/property, memorials, honorariums, annual giving statements); Minor Accounts Receivable; contacting members/attendees, etc.
Expense – Accounts Payable; contracts; insurance; vendor inquiries; negotiate office equipment contracts; administer the corporate credit cards and open accounts.
Budgeting & Reporting – Finance Committee monthly reports; intercompany transfers; monthly ministry budget details; annual Audit and creating an annual budget; 1099; annual and quarterly sales and use tax returns.
Payroll- Process semi-monthly; payroll reports and GJE; verify federal payroll taxes.
Benefit Administration – Annual benefits enrollment; ongoing enrollment, termination, and changes;
calculate payroll deductions and compare to benefit invoicing; 403b semi-monthly.
Proven ability: Microsoft Office
Preferred: Proficient in QuickBooks
Team contributions – 10%
Meet regularly with the Senior Director of Operations to provide feedback, updates, and contributions to action planning for ministry team goals.
Attend weekly and monthly all-staff/chapel and individual ministry meetings serving as a liaison between Finance and Westover staff; meet when requested with ministry leaders to discuss monthly budget detail and budgets.
Write and communicate new finance procedures to staff as needed; help train new and current associates on reimbursements, deposits, and budgets ongoing.
